Name:  Katherine Ross

Hometown:  Stevens Point

Course of Study:  Nursing

Why did you choose Viterbo University?
I chose Viterbo for their prestigious nursing program and because of the Franciscan identity. I felt very welcomed just by talking to faculty on the phone before I applied to come to Viterbo. I love the campus and the small class sizes.

How has financial aid impacted your college experience?
I am very lucky to be granted financial aid. It has made college possible for me to attend. I think Viterbo does a great job of helping students financially.

What will a college degree mean to you?
A college degree will mean a lot to me. It will show the hard work I have done at school and my qualifications to be a nurse.

Have you learned something during college you didn’t expect?
I have learned a lot about myself and the way that I learn best. Test taking has never been my strong point, but each semester I learn new ways to study and take tests better.

What are your plans after graduation?
I hope to work at the Marshfield Clinic. I do not know which field of nursing I want to go into yet though. I have thought about working in the emergency room for a few years to gain the most experience and then decide from there. It is also a dream of mine to one day go back to school and become a nurse practitioner.
