Why did you choose Viterbo University?
I chose Viterbo for its small class sizes and amazing faculty. Everyone was very welcoming and open during all of my visits, and that has been a continuing theme during the entirety of my education here.

How has financial aid impacted your college experience?
Financial aid has hugely impacted my college experience. I hold three on-campus jobs during the school year, and income from those plus generous financial aid will help me graduate college with little to no student loan debt.

Did receiving financial aid impact your decision to attend Viterbo University?
Financial aid absolutely impacted my decision to attend Viterbo. With the financial help from the school and from the state, I was able to attend a private university for less than it would have cost to attend several state schools I was also looking at!

What will a college degree mean to you?
A degree to me means that you have the power of a wealth of knowledge—knowledge specific to your exact life goals and ambitions, but also a broad range of other training that you may not know the use for yet. Viterbo University prepares you not only for a meaningful job, but also a meaningful life.

Have you learned something during college you didn’t expect?
I have learned a lot about independence and being a free thinker. Growing up, so many belief systems are, necessarily, ingrained in your education. You are exposed to only your corner of the world, and your own way of thinking. College broadens this perspective, and allows you to start recognizing differences in the world and thinking independently.

What are your plans after graduation?
My plan is to pursue a career as a professional performing artist.
